Lets share ideas and thoughts on "Wi-Max", I want to learn!

I love Wi-Fi! But here comes "Wi-Max", next generation Wi-Fi. I know pretty much nothing about it, but really want to learn everything! All the industry standards are being ironed out apparently, but where can I find out all the information about it? Can any one help me, for free? Any info I have really found, I have to pay for it....come on, I am a 30 yr old cancer victim in Vancouver Canada and I would love to hear from everyone regarding this topic.
